Refined by pro-racer Mark Weir, the WeirWolf LT (Low Tread) is something of a Frankentire experiment gone terribly right. The LT couples the large-volume of a downhill tire with the fast-rolling, low-profile tread of an XC race tire, making it nearly as versatile as Weir himself. I was running 2.3 Exiwolf tires on my Redline Monocog (SS Rigid 29er) until I blew one out. Ghetto tubeless sharp rock = no more air. So I moved my good Exi out back and slapped this thing on the front. This tire mounted up right away with my ghetto tube and was ready to go quickly. It rolls better then the Exi and has a little better traction in the turns. But I have yet to find the limits. There is no way it is a 2.55. It looks the like the same size as my 2.3. The circumference is a little larger and I guess there is a little more air. The LT part helps it roll but I wonder how long it will last.
