pat...@gm...l.comSuper beefy- I have no doubts that this will securely hold my panniers. The extra tubing on the sides obstructs panniers from being sucked into a spinning tire- something which will cause you to have a definite nonplussed expression. I've gotten several compliments on the aesthetics of my bike from random strangers and I believe this curvaceous rack has something to do with it. Things I'd use this rack for- confident commuting- picnics- cross country tours- a spouse to love and cherish forever.

klausmorgan1Fantastic back rack! Versatile, strong, easy to mount, cheap, lots of mounting positions are supported, really there isn't a thing to complain about.

A GuestIf you're looking for instructions, Axiom has them on their website. Once I found those, everything was quite straightforward to install.
This is a hardy, solid rack. I put it on my commuter/touring allaround bike, as the chrome rack that came with it was starting to bend from the weight of my panniers. It looks brawny and tightened up very simply; I hope to be using it for the life of the bike!
There are definitely prettier racks, but for price point, carrying capacity, and lightness, it doesn't get better than this.

pmolickReally love this rack! This is my first rear rack, but it mounted perfectly to my small framed (49 cm) Specialized Langster Chicago Edition. The extra parallel bar at the bottom of the rack allows me to shift bags forward and back for the best fit and less chance of heel strike. May modify eventually to have a secure place to put my Kryptonite Faghettaboutit lock on top, but that's certainly no flaw on Axiom's part. Great rack, great price.

caf...@li...e.comAs everyone else already said, super beefy rack, looks great on my steel 90's mtb. Would buy 10 more if I had the bikes!

githensI had to shorten the mounting stays to fit my wife's 16" Jamis frame but overall installation was easy. Very sturdy & functional rack.

A GuestGood all around rack. Mounted easily to my wife's Kona Roundabout. Nice wide platform for carrying things on top. Rearmost stay keeps pannier bags from swinging into fender/ wheel. Frame is a bit thick, but I'm comparing it to a Tubus chromoly rack. Overall a very functional rack.

A GuestBest rear rack for my bike yet. Very light and carries lots of stuff.

A GuestExcellent product. Very strong, solid aluminum tubing. Fit great on my Specialized Cross Trail w/ disc brakes. I specifically selected this rack because of the angled bottom mount, and of course the very high capacity.
Also works great with the grocery bag panniers.

nripinI have this installed on my Specialized Allez 2010.
This is the most Value for Money Rack in the market! And treefortbikes is the Best place to buy it from!!
The main Highlight is that my Avenir triple Pannier no more hits the spokes.
I have peace of mind when I ride even with my pannier full!!

A GuestThe rack, once installed has worked flawlessly. I have this mounted to a Rawland Drakkar "monstercross" bike. I had to shorten the stay rods, as the angle they had to go down at, to meet the braze-ons on my frame, made the ends of them hit the bottom of the platform. Nothing a tape measure and hacksaw couldn't fix... Very solid, though.

A GuestBest value in a touring rack, great weight capacity, classic styling, high quality welds. You cannot go wrong with this rack.

derekstewartI bought this after searching for a rack that can hold a substantial amount of weight. I was told at my local bike shop that there is no such thing. So finding this I was a little sketchy but everyone else gives it great reviews so I went ahead with it. I have to say the reviews are true. I actually use it for another passenger and have no problems.
The mounting was another story though. It came with these rinky-dink little bolts and no nuts so I had to provide my own. Thusly I had to drill the holes bigger on the vertical tubes.
I also had to make my own bracket for mounting under the seat. But this was not the fault of the rack or even its design. My bike happens to be different for some reason and doesn't have typical mount locations. (mid 80's Peugeot).

A GuestThe advantage of this rack is that it permits bags to be mounted further back than many standard racks. This prevents rider's heel from hitting pannier. Highly adjustable mounting, but still may not fit all bikes.
Tree Fort had a great price and very fast shipping.
The Axiom company is not very responsive. I tried to get info before purchasing to ensure it would fit my bike. Axiom has no phone number, and did not respond to my ticket after 2 weeks. I did not check later. I would therefore wonder about their lifetime warranty.
That said, rack seems well made and very sturdy. I ultimately needed 2 longer screws and some 1/4" spacers where the bike attaches to the seat stay since mine is narrow and centered.

drewthomas06I love axiom stuff. Cheap and great warranty. mine didnt come with hardware but treefort sent me some out right away. I love that this sweeps back to avoid heel strike.

tjgrilleyGreat rack. Very Durable, and very easy to mount. Strong. I have purchased 3 (For 2 of my bikes, and girlfriends bike). No bells and whistles, just everything you need.
Cons: The width of the rear triangle where the tubes hit the top of the rack makes the rack hard for Arkel panniers to fit onto. You can make it fit, but it takes a little more work. Further, the wierd section where the tubes are double thick also makes fitting panniers more difficult.
The bike light attachment is real flimsy. For a permanent Dyno light, I created a new attachment, very easy to do, and it cost about 1$.

eli1cheThis rack is awesome. I have a Schwinn hybrid 700c frame, it has all the threaded holes ready to mount this rack. Very Sturdy.

jktremaineWorks great and I found it very easy to install. The price is exceptional and I do not yet see any downside. The sweepback bar on the bottom is necessary for large panniers, such as the Axiom Typhoon or bigger. My previous rack, a Trek Interchange was just as solid, but once I put the panniers far enough back to clear my heels, the panniers could wobble and hit the rear wheel.

thebigoutdoorsLike all racks of this type, one must bend the support rods. I expected this. Light weight and good price.

clk...@gm...l.comSolid feel, and tested over a 700 mile (10 day) tour with a 34 lb load with no problems. Many more miles necessary to be conclusive, but tour did include 12 miles of road not suitable for a road bike (didn't seem to stop me).
Excellent value, solid construction and welds.

bikeoneI have a very normal Cannondale Hybrid model. I spent a considerable amount of time researching racks because the Cannondale seat is a bit "beefy" and therefore the seat would interfere with my trunk bag on most racks. There were two options. The first was to find a rack that sits back a little. The second option was to simply purchase a "longer" rack, like the Axiom Journey Adjustable.
I should have seen a "warning flag" go up when I attempted to contact the company with some questions. I sent three emails with no response. They issue you a "ticket number" whereby someone will contact you. (Can't they just email you with a freakin' answer?) Nobody ever contacted me, even with THREE TICKET NUMBERS!!!
The rack has two rails which "appear" to be adjustable from the photos. Unfortunately they only adjust slightly up and down and not side to side. Most good quality racks can be adjusted from side to side to accommodate the wide spectrum of bike sizes.
Could the rack be fitted to my bike? I won't know because I'm sending the damn thing back today. The answer quite honestly may be yes. However it may had taken three bends in each of the two rods, and the ends may still had to be cut. This has to be done carefully if you are a perfectionist like me. You should wrap the rods with cloth before placing them in a vice. Even then it's doubtful you could carry this out and still have a level rack.
If you want to try may I suggest removing the rods and inserting a thick pipe cleaner as a template. You then can bend the pipe cleaner the exact way it needs to be. Carefully remove the pipe cleaner and then using that as a template attempt to bend the rods.
The Axiom Journey Adjustable wins some points for a nicely made and strikingly good looking rack. I also liked the fact it was a bit longer than most racks. However, I will not be suggesting this item to anyone due to Axioms poor customer service and most importantly, the huge challenge in installing the rack.
