westoverbenI am not a racer and have no leanings that way. I'm guessing racers would not be interested in these pedals at all. I do ride my custom road frame hard and for every purpose. Sometimes I'm light touring, sometimes jamming around the airport for 25 miles, sometimes commuting to college or church, and sometimes I'm running errands. Whatever I am doing, I do all on the same bike and these MKS Lambda pedals let me do all well. I am often in traffic and am pestered by any pedal that I have to fidget with or flip to get on a platform or flip to get into the clips. Traffic riding is nerve racking enough without fussing with getting traction. These pedals work great when I'm in tennis shoes or dress loafers; they grip and spin easily. I run all Ultegra on my bike and the Lambdas compliment that group well- at least they don't detract- and look great. The design is well planned and executed here. The pedals corner very well and clear everything; they don't "feel" too big. Put 'em on and, finally, forget your pedals and just ride.

niknakThis is a great pedal for those who don't want to wear special shoes while commuting, touring, or other non-competitive riding. The long platform provides excellent support. You can also install/remove these pedals with a 6mm allen wrench, which means one less tool to carry on a tour. I'll never go back to clipless for anything other than riding my "roadie".

ArchergalI bought these a while back and finally got around to putting them on my commuter bike. They're wonderful. I've ridden them in everything from my Keen bike sandals to my Merrell Barefoot Pace Glove shoes and it works for all of them.
I like having the large platforms that allow me to change foot position. I've had knee surgery and I have to be really careful with my knees. These fit the bill and work excellently for me. I plan to order more for my road bike.

bulldog1935I haven't ridden without toe clips for 35 years.
But that means shoes and socks, which are hot in the south Texas summer heat. With these pedals I can wear my favorite light Merrill sandals, and count on a secure grip. Rather than riding on the ball of my foot, though, I center these on the arch now, and it required a seat adjustment - just a heads up. Cornering clearance is great - these are every bit as narrow as the high-mileage Sylvans they replaced. MKS quality, light weight, hop on and pedal without thinking about it.

A GuestI have a wide foot and some minor knee issues, so I prefer platform pedals on my road bike. There aren't a lot of road bike platform options out there that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing - most are clearly targeted at the mountain bike market segment. I was using Wellgo M111s, which are well-made and light, but very small for an 11.5, 4E foot. The Lambda's have been a nice change. I find it easier to position (and re-position) my foot, and I no longer experience numbness or tingling in my toes after longer rides. The pedals are smooth, silent, and seem to be of very good build quality. I just wish these came in black; otherwise they've been great.

ClevelandBest pedals I have used. Works with any shoe and you never have to worry about which side is up. Plenty of surface area, even with size 12 shoes.

jchaplinePlatform is 3" wide by 4.5" long. (TFB: dimensions in pedal specifications would be helpful -- the photos give no sense of the size.) I'm very happy with these. I've used Time RXS clipless pedals, Shimano pedals with a clip on one side and platform on the other, and Power Grips. I've decided that, for me, anything other than platform pedals are not worth the trouble. I don't race, and I no longer have or want a separate bike for exercise rides that I can do clipped in. One bike for everything, no special bike shoes, good platform pedals, life is a little simpler.

A GuestSuperb! I have been using these for over a year on both my commuter and touring bikes and will not use anything else. Easily ride 70plus miles in any shoe or sandal without any numbness or hotspots. Narrow design works very well on my folders.

esheaeDue to the weather I have only ridden with these a few times, but I like them very much. I've ridden with clipless pedals with a large platform for the last year or so on my Jamis Code Sport. I decided to try these because (1) I found that more and more often it is really a pain to use my shoes with the cleats and (2) the pedals I had on were not really working very well. I don't feel any real loss of efficiency or power and they are very convenient to use with my shoes and, hopefully with warmer weather, my sandals.

A GuestVery good, used on a commute/touring bike, will never use clipless or clipped pedals again!
Best of all one can walk when one disembarks the bike.

A GuestI bought these to put on my salsa fargo. I like riding the bike with any shoes and these are great for just that. They have plenty of surface area and grip for my size 12s, and seem really solid

anonymousThe MKS Lambda pedals are ideal pedals for commuting to and from places you need to be. More so they look good on a vintage road racer. Even when wet they grip tenaciously to waffle pattern soles, i.e., skateboard and BMX shoes. Now I understand why they wear them. Thank you for the service and product selection, Tree Fort Bikes.

DJA132I have these on 3 bikes and love them . The grip is very secure and the size accomodates any style shoe . When I want to ride my bike I don't change clothes or shoes first - I just go. I also am not a fan of form over function but can't deny how cool these look.

stevenrparkGrippy, long platform.
Could be a little wider.

A GuestGood platform pedal. Huge contact surface but narrower than most platforms. I ride these almost exclusively in chunky EVA foam sneakers and they grip just fine, due to the raised nubs on the surface. They won't work with Power Grips or similar pedal straps, but I haven't found that to be a problem. I put mine on an old cyclocross bike I'm using for a commuter, and frankly they look completely wrong on the bike, but if you're using platforms, you probably aren't too concerned with looks anyways.

majesticdubTwo months ago, I started commuting daily on my new Cross-Check. Once I replaced the stock pedals with the MKS platforms, I noticed more stability and overall power transfer. I would highly recommend these for anyone who commutes. Love em!

dlloyd1975I have these on my Big Dummy and found them to be so nice that I added them to my vintage road bike. I dislike clipless pedals (either I get toe numbness or I'm walking like a duck on an ice rink) and these give me a nice platform for my large (size 11.5) feet, great grip and I can still spin pretty fast. They're not much heavier than road clipless pedals and I can wear regular shoes.

TacoTomA large platform but narrow enough for a deep lean when cornering. The grip is good on my Keen sandals. Bright finish is good looking on my bike! These spin freely without any play.

A GuestGreat pedals! I put these on my carbon road bike, since I got tired of buying new cleats for my Look pedals every year. Now I can wear normal shoes when I ride. These pedals provide plenty of grip while riding. I find that they make me focus on pedaling with BOTH legs, unlike my previous clip-in pedals, which allowed for sloppy form. I have been out riding with clubs of road riders, and I notice no decrease in power using these pedals...but I did get plenty of questions about the pedals from the other riders. This is a great "retro" upgrade for my bike (along with a new Brooks B-17 saddle). And the price from TreeFort was great too.

A GuestThese are really the perfect pedals if you want to commute on a bike without changing shoes

A GuestI just received these from a different online retailer (unfortunately, higher price). I can't say enough good things about the pedals. I just ride a Townie and didn't realize pedals would make so much difference but they do. I wear a 14 4e shoe and my feet no longer slip off the pedals. Not only that they just feel like pedaling is easier. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or purchase these pedals again.
