Tourist Handlebars

This is a pretty good bar for an inexpensive price. I've been riding one on my commuter bike (old MTB frame with modest rise stem) and it is a much more comfortable and relaxed ride than the flat bars I replaced. Hand position is both higher (slight rise on the bars) and further back toward the seat. Plenty of room to mount handlebar items, but enough ID looseness is required to slide past the bends. The steering geometry: Generally (depending on the elevation angle) the hands are straight out from the stem pivot, or just behind, as well as closer together than on most flat bars. This makes for more sensitive steering, which takes some getting used to, but then it is fine. Probably a little more hard to control riding one-hand while looking back over your shoulder at traffic, but it too comes with practice.

Not much to be said about a simple handlebar - but it is inexpensive, nicely polished and seems plenty strong enough for the job.

Great bars at a reasonable price. The Velo Orange Tourist are comfortable and work with a variety of gearing options. Installed these on 2 different bikes. One with a twist shifter and one with a trigger shifter. There is sufficient space on in the grip area to accommodate a twist shifter. These bars are nearly identical to the North Road style bars found on vintage Raleighs. The distance between grip ends was just right for me, not too wide and not too narrow. Used one pair as a retrofit on a vintage Raleigh Sport 3 speed.
