Although outboard bearing cranks have long been standard in the world of road and mountain biking, SRAM was the first on the scene with an outboard bearing crank for the track and is still just about the only one out there doing it.
It's a bit of a head scratcher, but it makes the choice easy when looking for the absolute stiffest track/fixed gear crank system around. Plus there''s the added bonus for the fixie kings in that the sealed cartridge GXP bearings means no more busting open your dated loose ball bottom bracket every time it rains on you.
Forged AL-7050 arms
AL-7075-T6 chainring (1/2 X 1/8" chains only), 48t
Using this crankset on my track bike, and I have no regrets. They have broken in very smoothly in the past 2 weeks. For the price and the content of this item. It's a steal! I would strongly recommend this SRAM omnium crankset to anyone!
