The Thomson Elite is a standard setter. Machined from one single length of 7000 series aluminum with a body hollowed by elliptical extrusion, Thomson lowered seatpost weight while optimizing strength. The clamp, head and upper tube can withstand 350 foot-pounds of torque. Thomson's strength tests indicate that the Elite seatpost is over 40% stronger than the strongest production seatposts available. Also features low-profile clamps and efficient saddle adjustability, as saddle tilt may be manipulated without changing the saddle''s fore/aft position. Thomson Elite: robust and beautifully executed.
Sizing note: Thomson Elite Setback seatposts are available in seven diameter sizes ranging from 26.8mm - 32.4mm, and they are also made in four different lengths, 250mm, 330mm, 367mm and 410mm. However, not all seven diameter sizes are available in all four lengths. Please check the drop-down menu above for specific diameter/length combinations and availability.

My favorite seatpost still after 2 years. I love feeling secure and the setback helps me dig deep in climbs.

The setback design is a beauty. When I took it out of its pouch, I was amazed on how good the quality was. Not the lightest but very strong, I wouldn't want a broken seatpost to skewer my bottom just to save a few grams. Yes, it is expensive but with TFB's price matching, saved me $$ dollars. Cheaper than a used one on ebay. Two thumbs up.

Had a carbon seatpost that snapped when I hit a bump while I was riding. Saw countless reviews on Thomson seatposts. Being a tad weary of carbon now, and the price that Tree Fort Bikes had, I had to give it a chance.
Simultaneously, I had just gotten a new saddle. The fore/aft & tilt adjustments are a tad bittersweet. Making fine adjustments is awesome on this post; the downside is that it just takes a little getting used to. You can really dial everything in to where you want it. One degree up or down does make a difference. The markings are laser etched. However, once you find the right spot, you're set. My old seatpost had a "one bolt clamp" design which made things quick for adjustments, but in hindsight, this post has entirely much more ability across the board to make those fine tuned adjustments and makes this seatpost a winner, IMO. Just make sure you bring a 4mm Allen key with you.
