A GuestThe things are grippy, maybe a little too grippy. I had to switch up the gearing on my ss because of the increased rolling resistance. If I were to do it all over I would buy this tire for only the front wheel and something with less studs for the rear.

petercdThese were hard to get, they are constantly backordered. They are also hard to install. The bead just doesn't want to move.
However, they provide a lot of confidence on snowy/icy roads. I use them for commuting in the winter. Honestly, I didn't encounter a lot of bad weather this year, but they performed well in what we had. The rolling resistance is very high. You can feel it instantly. But they have a reasonably quiet ride for how aggressive the tread and studs are. They look like they'll last a long time. My old Xerxes tires lasted a few years, but eventually the sidewalls just gave out. The Schwalbe have a higher rolling resistance, compared to the Xerxes, but they seem to be more durable, based on how they've worn after the first year.
