A GuestThese are much higher quality bearings than the stock ones in the XT outboard BB. You do need to figure out a way to pop out the old bearings to put these in. I used a headset remover tool for one side, and on the other, I put in a large C-clip behind the bearing race and punched it out with a close-fitting plastic rod.
For pressing in the new bearings, I used a homemade press made of a 1/2" threaded rod and some washers and nuts.

yaf...@ho...l.comI was able to modified my PraxisWorks GXP bottom bracket into M24 perfect fit and I have 2 bearing protectors for a different modification later on.

thackI was looking for an upgrade to the crappy bearings and plastic sleeved design in my original RaceFace X-type BB. So far, this kit looks like a very decent (read: affordable) option to the nicer but 3x more expensive Chris King replacement bearings. I've replaced the bearings on my SS MTB w/this kit, and planning to do same on my CX training bike soon enough. Getting rid of the plastic sleeve, going to the larger, more robust ball bearings, and moving to a better out seal are all key reasons to upgrade. After all, the cups rarely wear out or fail. So why spend for a whole new BB when you can simply recycle the cups and get a new set of bearings!?
