The Avid Speed Dial 7's are the best levers out there for the money. A few years ago these levers sold for $80 and can now be found for around $30 or less.
The Speed Dial allows you to change the distance of the lever to the bar with a simple turn of a knob.
The construction of them minimizes flex and extra play which could result in sloppy brake feel.
Look good, work great! Installed these on my 2001 Surly 1x1 build. Love the way they look and they work great! The dial lets you adjust how much cable gets pulled so you can set the leverage up just right. I'm sure I'll be buying more for some other bike builds. And I really can't believe the incredible price. Thanks Tree Fort Bikes!
Summed up: You can spend more $$$, but you won't get better performance...
Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

The Avid Speed Dial 7 levers are very easy to install and maintain. They look very nice and are very sturdy. They have a very nice two-finger design which works very well. The only feature I wish it had is a split clamp.
Prior to using these on my mountain bike, I used them on my BMX cruiser, which ran V-brakes. I like the versatility of these levers, as well as the performance. I've never had any problems with them and for a mechanical disc or V-brake application, it's tough to do better for the cost.
