InSet is the classic Chris King sealed bearing headset for the latest generation bicycle headtubes. Designed as a low-stack style headset, the press-in cups and bearings are housed within the headtube allowing for an overall lower ride height.
The aluminum cups are available 10 available colors and contain Chris King's legendary bearings; all made in King''s Portland, Oregon facility.

Santa Cruz lists the TallBoy as using an IS41/IS52 headset which is currently not offered by Chris King. The closest headset in terms of quality to the Chris King would be the Cane Creek 110.

We are unable to find the headtube measurements for the 2016 Scott Scale 940. If the upper headtube measures 44mm and the lower headtube measures 56mm the Chris King Inset 2 will work. Chris King has a step by step guide to measuring your headtube here:

We couldn't find any information on the 2010 version of the Scale 40. Cane Creek Lists the 2011 version as using a ZS44/EC44 which would use an Inset 7 from Chris King.
It might be best to remove the old headset and measure the headtube before ordering a new headset.

I haven't been able to find any information regarding that frame's headtube measurements, you'll need to measure the inside diameter of your frame to determine size, or take it into your local shop.
