A GuestGreat tire. I've only run it for a few hundred miles as a front tire, but a rear one will be on soon. Very light for a real puncture resistant tire.
I agree with a previous review - not as grippy and smooth as "race" tires, but hey, who's got the money to run those on a regular basis? Not to mention the flats...

pmartin462I bought these to replace Armadillo 700x23. The Armadillo were used essentially to avoid flats for which they worked great. The front tire lasted over 5,000 miles. Only two flats total in two years of riding. However, I did not realize how rough of a ride they were until I put the Gatorskins on my bike. The Gatorskins are awesome. Felt like I was riding a completely different bike when I put them on. Smooth ride, fast, much lighter than the Armadillos, and so far no flats, and I have hit several bad pot holes. If they last as long as the Armadillos I may never buy any other tires.
I am not a racer. I generally ride to stay in shape, and do club rides on the weekends.

A GuestThese have been great tires - the best that i have ridden. They are not the most supple nor are they the lightest, but where i live and for the roads i ride they are fantastic. i have put more than 4000 miles on one set of these and they are still going strong. Total miles on Gatorskins is over 8000. Punture resistance is amazing compared to many other tires I have ridden. My typical ride is on city streets and county highways. Broken glass and debris is the norm. i will continue to ride gatorskins as long as I can get them!

dmariottExcellent tire. Long lasting, low rolling resistance and great puncture resistance make this a terrific commuting and training tire. I've used many tires and the Gatorskin has been the best!

wilsoneddyRegularly put 6,000 miles on a tire with very rarely a flat. Perfect for me.

A GuestSince I bought my 1st road bike several months ago, I got several flats far too frequent. I'm a big guy currently losing a ton of weight. After I took the recommendation from the Tree Fort salesman I have had absolutly no trouble. The Continental Ultra Gatorskins are very durable.

A GuestI presently have close to 3,000 miles on on a pair of Gatorskins that came on a bike I purchased used. I sold the bike but kept the tires. I do not know how many miles were on the tires when I purchased the used bike. The tires are now on the 3rd set of rims and still doing well. I have not had a flat.
When I mounted the tires on the 3rd set of rims I did notice some "threads" hanging of the bead. The thread has not caused any problems. I simply cut of any thread as it appears. I know I am due for a flat. My Gatorskins have many nicks in the sidewalls and are showing their 3000 miles.
I have purchased two new Gatorskins in preparation for an exchange when I finally get a flat.
I do ride on some pretty rough roads and I do ride almost every day.

A GuestAfter shredding 4 michellin tires in 6 months I was ready for a tire that could last longer. I researched and found the gatorskins. I've now had the same set on for two full seasons with only one flat (pinch flat, my mistake). I'm wondering if the tubes in my bike will simply wear out before they get punctured.

glh...@ho...l.comPerformance, quality/reliability, and puncture resistance are important to me. The Kevlar Gatorskins and their wire bead cousins exceed my requirements. I do 10k a year and sometimes wear these tires until the cords start to show, yet I have not flatted in over two years.

jbasdfI road a pair of these all last season without a single flat. They are awesome tires and only slightly heavier than the GP4000S. If you want a good training tire or if you just hate getting flats grab a pair of these.

A GuestThis is the only tire I will use on my bike and my wife's bike. We have lots of glass and goatheads here in Reno Nevada, and I've tried most other tires. This won't prevent punctures, but we have far fewer with this tire.

A GuestI use these tires for triathlons and road rides. No punctures and great "feel" so far. Do not use on a trainer, they are too soft for that but wear well on the road.

ian...@me...e.comI reviewed these tires about 1000 miles ago. I now carry a spare tire and tube only because I expcect a flat after over puttng 3200 miles on the same set without a flat. Aside from a "worn" appearance the tires are still performing extremely well.
My next report will be when I get a flat. I ride 100 miles per week on average.

A GuestThis is the best tire I've found for *resisting* the many goat heads and glass in the greater Reno area. Specialized has one too, but I haven't tried it. This is the one I swear by. Yes, it's a bit heavy and I've seen some complain about feeling the pavement more, but it beats the frequent flatting I've had with every other tire. Highly recommended and a great price here!

A GuestThese are my second set and they work great. It may not be the most supple & grippy tires but they work for everyday training.
