The GP4000 is designed as a race/high performance tire that offers fairly good flat protection. The rubber compound is optimized for temperatures above 50 degrees to provide maximum grip.

Cant believe the difference in ride on these tires. Great price! It was my first time changing out tires on a road bike. I found it to be very easy and fast. I cant wait to put more miles on them. I have a collegue that has had his Contis for over 2 years now. I cant wait to get more miles on them!

Just retired my front GP-4000 after having ridden it 3200 miles, 2000 of which were on the rear carrying 200 lb rider at 100 psi. Changed it upon noticing a 1mm cut in the tread...good thing because about 2" of tread had threads showing and tire had 6-8 other cuts, some in paper-thin tread. Impressive casing...must have prevented many flats. This tire has excellent durability right up to the end of its life, and the road feel when new is superior to other Continentals.
