Why do you not recommend using bar ends with these handlebars? I would like to transfer my Ergon grips with the integrated stubby bar ends, about 2 - 2 1/2" long, from my current bars to these but, if there is a serious safety issue there, I'll keep shopping.

It means bar end shifter and bar end brake levers. Your Ergon grips will be just fine!
