asked by: a guest My current stem is 40mm high will this work or will I need a 1mm shim or something as you say this stem is 41mm high? Thanx
A.
anwered by: jackivey 1 extra mm is probably not enough to need an extra spacer. There is probably enough wiggle room in the manufacturing of both the stem and fork to be okay to load your bearings up with all the pre-loading goodness it wants. However, we are here for you... asked by: a guest Will it clamp onto a 1.5 steer tube and 26mm clamp?
A.
anwered by: canteau The Dimension stem is designed to work with an 1-1/8" steerer tube and 25.4mm bars. We currently do not offer a stem that will fit a 1.5" (downhill mountain) steerer and a 26.0mm (classic road) handlebar.

asked by: a guest I have a Bianchi road bike. Will this fit my road bike?
A.
anwered by: canteau Without knowing more details than the brand of the bike we can't tell you for certain yes or no. The Dimension stem is designed for 1-1/8" threadless forks which is the most common way stems in the last 15 years attach to the bike. The bigger issue will be what handlebar size you have. Generally road bikes will use either 26.0mm or 31.8mm clamps and this Dimension stem has a 25.4mm clamp which is more common on older mountain bikes.
