You should be able to get the FSA Vero crank to work with an 8-speed drivetrain, because the chainrings are thinner you may notice a little more drivetrain noise than a true 8-speed chainring.

Yes, provided you have the proper tools, a double front derailleur and depending on the 105 generation a double shifter.

If you have upgraded the drivetrain to modern 9 speed (18 total) drivetrain then yes. If not the older chains are too wide.

If you're looking for a square taper compact crank, this one is pretty sweet at a pretty sweet price. I wouldn't race this crankset, but for a training/recreational bike they're great... plus you get a complete crankset for about the price of a single chainring.
