aharmonIf you've read more than one or two of the reviews here you get the picture - stand works great, but better for wider mountain tires than for road.
So here's my contribution - trim a bit off the the inside of each of the two cones on the swing arm (and a bit off the end of the 1/4 inch bolt if you want to keep things neat) and voila! It will be much more stable for your skinny-tire bike, too.

cjochetzThese stands are simply awesome. I was so tired of gently leaning bikes against the wall in the garage only to have them fall if slightly disturbed. These stands are a welcome relief to that issue and hold the bikes very well. They are also great for simple repairs where the workstand is overkill, adjusting stem and bars, for example.
I have tried mine with MTB tires in the 2.1 (Kenda Nevegal) to 2.4 (WTB Mutanoraptor) size and they work very well. I have not tried the DH bikes with the 2.7s. I suspect that they will work but will likely not be as stable since the tire may not be able to seat in the bottom fully.
The icing on the cake: anyone who has small children and takes them for rides in a bike trailer knows the pain of connecting the trailer while trying to keep the bike upright. These stands are great for getting the trailer hooked up and the child secure without worrying about the bike falling over.
I wish I had more bikes so I could order more stands.

A GuestI bought this as a stand to use indoors and when I needed to quickly and cleanly stand my bike up and it works as advertised. With my FS trailbike (2.35 tires) I have to force the wheel into the stand, meaning that anything larger than this is unlikely to fit. Overall, a good stand for the money.

gary_goldmanThis stand works well for me. I have used cheaper plastic bike-stands in the past, and had to carefully adjust them for tire-width and still worry that the bike would fall over (especially when supporting the front wheel). No such problems with this stand for my road bike (700x23 tires). I'm very happy with it. I just wish it were less expensive.

A GuestMy LBS uses these for all their bikes in the showroom. They are very sturdy and easy to use.
Another plus is that there is no chance of this stand applying stress to your spokes since it never even touches them. All that comes in contact with this stand are the tires and that alone makes this one a top choice.
It seems that the stand works a bit better with wide tires but if you make sure that a road bike with narrow tires is inserted straight you won't have any issues.

A GuestGreat bicycle stand, sturdy and strong. I no longer have my bicycle falling over. Tree Fort Bikes shipped it out very fast!

supafast213This was the second feedback stand for my garage. Like the other reviewers, I wish it was cheaper. However, I coudn't find anything else out there for me. I would like for the support pieces to be longer so that I could link them together without the bikes touching. Overall, this is a great product that I have recommended to my friends. Besides, bikes look coolest when standing up straight.

A GuestI purchased two stands to replace my flimsy Saris plastic junkers. One for a dirt jumper and another for a downhill bike. Both work flawlessly.
No assembly required, perfect straight out of the box. I highly recommend these and intend to purchase a third!

capkirkI purchased 2 of these. Holds the bike in place when parked or when servicing. It can be used on the front or back wheel. I accidentally knocked one over into my car but it was my fault, just be careful. There's really nothing else on the market quite like it. I wanted something that would hold our Trek 7.5's in place without touching the rim, spoke or frame. These fit the bill perfectly

jenjhenGreat stand! I use it in my apartment because my bike wouldn't stay upright on my carpet without it. It doesn't take up much room at all and it was simple to set-up and use. My bike feels pretty stable (the stand is on carpet so it works but I bet it would be rock-solid on a harder floor). I would recommend this stand for people who just need a space-saving way to keep a bike upright without putting pressure on the spokes!

A GuestBuy it. It's the best one out there. I bought 3 of them already.

sstorkelGiven the price, I was a bit surprised by how light-weight this product felt. The spring that holds the vertical arm is a bit stiff, at least right out of the box, so you may find yourself pushing the stand across the floor while trying to get a wheel inserted. The stand seems to work well with wider tires. My road bikes, with 700x25 tires, don't fall over but the stand doesn't grip these narrow tires as well as a wider tire. I like the ability to lock the stand flat; this saves a lot of space when storing or transporting the Rakk.
