The Halo Hex Key skewers feature an anodised alloy end cover and nut with Cr-Mo threaded rod using an Allen type Hex key fitting. Lightweight, sleek and an ideal upgrade for improved security as there's no QR lever.
The "Nut" features a steel Halo no-turn tab, making doing up these Skewers and releasing them a lot easier than trying to hold the nut from spinning at the time.

- 15x3mm cone spanner recess cut into nut, just in case the tab cannot operate
- Non-quick release design for added security when using disc brakes
- Alloy anchor nut includes Anti-Spin tab which prevents unwanted turning of nut when tightening or loosening the hex through-bolt

No, you won't. I tried these. My rear one slipped on the first hill, and broke within the first 10 minutes of the ride.
To be fair, it says not for "aggressive" trail use, so I found out that means pretty much NO xc use.

They are designed to be tightened to only a bit more than 7n-m. That's not very tight. They should be used only with vertical dropouts. I've read a number of stories from people who tried them with horizontal dropouts on the rear wheel and found their wheel slipping out of place.

It will really depend on the thickness of the rear dropout. They are made to work with 135mm dropouts and most road bikes are 130mm spaced.
There is some additional threads so it will work on some road bikes but not others.

Easy to install.it's nice to not have any plastic on these things. i thought the springs looked cheap but they are actually pretty stiff. the machining is all quality

These replaced a similar type from another company. The Halo's look far better and the anti-spin tab makes the removal process easier.
No problems yet. Good price to boot.

The blue version in the photo looks like a turquoise color (which is what I wanted), but the ones I received are more of a cyan color. Not a major problem, but the product photo color certainly is not accurate.

I bought this for my pugsley so I only needed the 135mm skewer, but I liked the color choices and standard hex features of this one. Description says "light" but they seem pretty heavy duty to me, feel solid. Wanted something more secure than a quick release and this fits the bill.

Stiff and very well made. These are easy to use, and have greatly improved my hardtail. The bike is way more responsive.

Used these to replace my quick release skewers which seem to shift the wheel position in the drop outs as the lever is tightened, which meant i was always having to adjust the disc brake pads. These Halo's are just as easy to use as a quick release, but i don't get any movement of the wheel in the drop outs as they are tightened. I also really like the cleaner look to them.

Just got my second set of halo hex key skewers. Got red ones for my rigid 8 speed felt q520 project, and purple on my giant revel 0. On both bikes these have improved riding in every condition. Handling, jumping, efficiency, speed, weight and ride quality have all improved. Definitely get these. Im on em every day.
