Izumi uses an industrial finish that gives the chain a black appearance. These chains aren't powder coated like some of the KMC chains

Cheap and strong. Makes a great sound when I pedal fast (on the Sugino 75 chainring and Miche cog).

Used with Sugino RD2 cranks, Sugino Messenger chain ring, and Shimano Nexus 3 internal gear hub. My 1/8" black KMC chain made noise that I thought was the Shimano internal gear hub untill I free wheeled the crank and noticed it was the chain making the noise. Izumi Eco chain is much quieter and makes a nice whirring sound.

Easy set up 1/8" chain. Does not come with any instructions, so be prepared to wip out your Park Tool manual or hit up google if you have not sized a fixed gear chain before. I've had this chain for over six months now, no problems at all. Plus, it looks good in black.
