stray4545These brake pads have been an incredible upgrade to my braking. Paired with Yokozuna Reaction cables, the Kool Stop salmon pads upgraded my braking from squishy and squeaky to powerful and firm. My brakes are stock shimano something or other, defintely not Ultegra or Dura Ace, and these pads fit in there just fine. They were super easy to toe in, and did not cause any squeaking. There is a lip at the back side of the pad that is raised up slightly. This lip compresses when the brake is applied firmly, and does a great job removing dirt, water and grit from the rim. I will never use any other pads on my road bike. Its a very inexpensive way to upgrade your braking, highly reccomended.

hala514Put these on my Cane Creek SCR3's. The original pads didn't work for crap. I was looking at replacing the entire brake. I tried these pads first, and they did in fact make a huge difference. I've only put about 200 miles on them so far, but I no longer think I need to upgrade my entire brakeset.

dpf...@gm...l.comI purchased these as an upgrade/replacement for my worn, stock Shimano pads. The Tree Fort staff confirmed that the pads would work with my setup (Ultegra levers, 105 calipers) and they installed without a hitch.
The Kool-Stops have a nice, firm feel and good stopping power in dry weather. They're formulated for wet conditions, but I haven't been out in the rain yet.
These pads paired with Gore Ride On cables give the performance of a more expensive group at a fraction of the cost.

geetlordI installed these pads along with a new set of TRP EuroX canti's. While apparent differences in stopping power may be related to my new brakes, these pads provided excellent power and modulation in braking.
More importantly, these pads apear to keep my rims much cleaner than any other brake pads that I have ever used. There is less buildup of road grime/grit on my rims and embedded in the brake pads themselves than I have seen with any other pads. This was a welcome surprise to me, as I just had to replace my rims after wearing out the braking surfaces in wet and gritty riding conditions.

zachriggleJust get these and be done with them. You don't need any other brake pads unless you're using carbon rims.
Seriously, they're that good. Stop on a dime, even when it's wet out.

A GuestStock tektro brakes wore out after 2500 miles on a Langster 2007 SS. Went to these and thoughts of a brake upgrade are gone. These make a big difference in the wet and even just "feel" better in the dry. I commute in DC on roads and trails and these pads fit the reality of day to day use in all weather. Not sure about durability- at 500 miles it seems like it will be slightly less than what came stock on the tektro's, but this is tiny dollars in the long run (and much less than the co-pay after you broadside a delivery van).

thackI've had some issues setting them up properly to eliminate squeal on my TRP EuroX canti's (more my issue than the pads'), but they appear to work great in all types of conditions.

MyrkleWonderful pads, especially in the wet northwest. Really grab in the wet and work well in the dry too. Shifting all the bikes to these.

rjb...@co...t.netFit my Ultegra brakes with ease. Power and feel is much improved. These are the brakes you want. look no further. Forget that they are best for rain. They are the best period. Ksyium Elite rims.

cavalinioI don't have much experience with other pads. These seems to work just fine. I don't have any problems with them.
They are not as powerful as disc brakes.

jpsiukGood pads, affordable, work quite well on aluminum rims.
It's a no-brainer to buy these over the stock Shimano pads.

A GuestWonderful pads, just put them on before a double century and they worked much better than the Shimano I had before.
