The Magura Julie HP is Magura's entry level hydraulic disc brake but still retains a lot of the reliable German engineering that has made Magura famous. Small things such as the ability see pad wear without removing the pads make these brakes a big deal for a low price.

Cheap hydraulics that work fine. Not as strong as my Formula k24s, but they modulate well.
Easy to shorten the hose and reinstall.
Quick note: Be carefull screwing in the fitting. It doesn't go in all the way. I stripped the threads in the master cylinder the first time I tried this and ruined the brake. It's easy to overtighten, just stop as soon as the resistance increases, leaving 4-5 threads visible.
