robdlrAwesome tire. Works well with Stan's no tubes/yellow tape/DT 470 rims. Great cornering.

pdub58I wasn't sure what to expect as this is the narrowest tire I have used on a 29er. I thought it might be a rough ride on my hardtail compared to the 2.3" meats I have been using for the last couple years. After a couple weeks with about a dozen trail rides in, I am impressed that they dont feel much different. They grab well on a variety of terrain and shed mud well too.
I previously used WTB exiwolf 2.3 and loved them but I think I will stick with the ignitor for a while as they feel lighter especially while navigating long rocky climbs here in marquette county.

A GuestWorks good. A replacement for my last one that drug for a few hundred feet after my bike fell part way off my [friend's] bike rack on the freeway coming back from Utah...

njhaleyThese tires are one of the best all-around tires I've found, and until I find something better I'm gonna keep using them. I typically get a full season and change out of them, but they do wear thin and lose knobs by that time. Running them tubeless with a Stan's kit and beat them pretty severely over the season; may hold up better in softer terrain.

csainthenryThe first thing I noticed about this tire is that for its size, it seems to be a little low volume, especially next to Michelin's WildRac'r. It's not really a problem, just an observation.
I did a 75-mile race (hardpack, rail-trails, loose singletrack) with an Ignitor on the front and a Wild Rac'r on the back, and the combo worked well. The Ignitor gave me cornering in the loose stuff on the trails, and didn't seem too sluggish on the harder surfaces.
Where I live (NE Wisconsin) the trails are all hardpack, so I don't know that I'd make this my daily tire, but it seems to work very well on the loose-over-hardpack trails.

A GuestI've ran the tires 5 times so far. The rides have averaged 5 miles each on single track mostly covered in leaves and light snow and over small logs and rocks. They have provided excellent grip and are well balanced even on tight turns. They even run pretty well on asphalt.

willvanThese tires are awesome! Was running Aspen's for the summer conditions, now that conditions are wet switched to these. I wish there was an eXception edition for even lighter weight.

strmanI normally don't buy the same mtn bike tires twice, I like to try different products. But after riding the Ignitor's, it was not even a question about ordering them again! Especially how well they work as tubless w/ Stan's kit. I sometimes miss a wider tire, but the traction and weight savings make up for a burlier tire.

A GuestI've been running these tires for two seasons now. I have then on my SS and my dual. I will say after trying (and crashing) several other 29" tires, these are hands down the best out there. I'm mostly a XC rider and being from the south, most of our trails are a mix of hard packed, dry, rocky, rooted, single track. They do great in these conditions. And cornering, wow can they grip and turn well. Even when you're dropping the hammer.
The only complaint is it's lack of wet weather traction. The lug height and separation is the big reason why. Now it's not exactly a fish out of water in wet conditions, but you push the tire closer to it's limit when things get wet. Oh and the tires could last a bit longer. Not bad, but when these first came out I was paying close to $50 a tire. And lasting only a season and a half is a bit much.

A GuestI have been using the Ignitor for a couple of years now with good success. I like the good compromise of great traction and somewhat low rolling resistance .
I have used small block 8s , Nevegals , Minions, Crossmarks , and others. I found the Ignitors to be best for techy cross country courses . I also feel that Maxxis has one of the more durable sidewalls. Will continue to use until something more awesome appears.
