A GuestYes the price is great and there are more gearing options to chose, but the quality of the manufacturing as gone downhill. Compared to older Miche, Campagnolo, Sram and Shimano cassettes, the shifting is poor. The problem, the cogs and the way they are meant to fit on the freehub are not designed in a way to aid shifting. One can see this by noticing the spiral pattern the cogs form on the above mentioned cassettes and then comparing it to the new Miche cassette; which are arranged haphazardly.
What I noticed most times upon shifting, when spinning but, especially when standing (sprinting) or climbing, the crank will jerk forward as the chain finds the tooth on the next cog; up or down. This is annoying, frustrating and tiresome and adds undue stress on tired muscles (especially on a climb) and not productive in racing situations.
However, the staff at Tree Fort were helpful in both checking their stock to see if the other Miche cassettes were similar (which they were) and offering to exchange my cassette for a new one if it was defective; which technically I suppose it isn't.
Apparently, Miche has downgraded their technology.
