profile is different from the very "round in cross section" old tire. The cross section is more or less oval, with a narrow central band, reducing rolling resistance. The shoulder to the sidewall provides more surface contact with pavement, so should be good when cornering. I can feel the transition from upright to a slight lean, as the pavement transitions from the narrow center of the tire to the shoulder. Just a different feel, but feels under control.
