MasterBBroke the radial head in my arm at the elbow in September, so traction on ice is a must. Because of the broken arm I take it pretty easy, but these tires make me feel safe on the ice. I have yet to have them slip at all. I have put about 60-70 miles on them so far, and have only lost one stud. I am 215 Pounds, don't know if that makes a diffrence. 5 Degrees today, in Helena Montana. Glad I am still riding my bike.

mmohr0357Overall this is a great tire for the money. After several rides I have found that you really need to keep the bike upright. Can't really lean into a corner when the trail is icy. There just aren't enough studs on the side knobbies to hold. Keeping that in mind, winter riding has been great. Tires mounted easily tubeless with Stans. Running in low 20's for psi. Could use more volume as these 2.1's seem a little skinny. After several rides i've only lost 2 or 3 studs.

A GuestI could only afford one of these for my 29er commuter this past winter. The first thing I did was go across the street onto the glare ice parking lot.
I was blown away how much control I had with just one studded tire in the front to triangulate my weight
I continued to commute all winter long (in Michigan) with no complaints.
When the old small block eight went back on this spring it felt like I lost a lot of rolling resistance, though.

jswaltonBought these monsters hoping to stay riding this winter but haven't had much time on them considering the weather. Rode Murray Lake in normal trail conditions and these guys killed me trying to keep up with a friend. The rolling resistance is huge as would be expected. Finally got the chance to ride in snow and frozen conditions and the tires were great. I never lost traction while friends without slid out up the hills. So far I've only lost one stud and I did do the recommended 30 or so miles on pavement/hardpack. Overall, great for the intended purpose brutal when not.

A GuestGreat tires -- no worries riding over packed snow or mirror slick ice, and deep enough tread to handle a moderate ( <= 1 inch) amount of loose snow.

jmelnik58Great Product. I would recommend to anyone looking to ride ice, hard packed snow and frozen dirt.

parttimemiA really good tire for winter riding. Lots of traction. They are a little heavy, but hey it helps improve my fitness, right? They can also slide out a little, but they always seemed to catch. I did the recommended break-in, and I am pretty sure that I did not lose any studs this past winter.
