byarbroughA decade ago, the engineer trapped in my head designed a minimalist rack that could support standard panniers in a low-rider position while avoiding the bulk of a top platform, and allowing a fender to attach to it if desired, thus avoiding the weight of stays. Ortlieb has done just that! AND they added quick-release functionality that REALLY works...I love it! I got a new gravel/adventure bike, and this is the perfect complement. Pair it with SKS Velo 47 Trekking 700c Fender Set from TreeFort as a stayless front/rear fender set, and you are all set! Much better road-spray coverage than the optional Ortlieb fender, plus has a good front fender that is stiff enough to work without stays. I attached my SKS fender to the rack with small zipties through holes I drilled in the fender, after I dialed-in the rack mounting points to the bike.
