skyguy94I hesitated to buy this due to the cost, but I picked up a 1977 Motobecane Mirage where the hanger was shoved into the spokes. I straightened it with a wrench and a bolt, but I just didn't get it quite straight enough for a 7x speed freewheel to shift properly.
It took me less than two minutes to get the hanger perfectly aligned with this tool. It is really well constructed and I'm sorry that I waited to buy it.

A GuestEasy enough for even an untrained mechanic to use. Because it's Park, online resources are available to help you out. Fixed a badly out of alignment hanger in about 15 minutes.

brandonc204Park Tool products are high quality. If you are buying this tool, you probably already know that. It's easy to use, and it comes with instructions that even an inebriated chimpanzee could understand. (Lots of pictures)
Now I don't have to take my bike to the shop everytime I bump my derailleur hanger!

m27...@in...b.comSince I am new to mountain biking, I know I am going to be bending the derailuer often not just this once. So, considering the LBS would charge me $40 the tool seemed like a good investment.
First time using this tool item and it worked well. I am sure as I need to use it, I will get more efficient.

A GuestThis tool is as important as hex keys. So simple yet so necessary. If you plan to have more than one geared bike in your garage and any of them get banged around, you will need this tool. That is, unless you like hauling your bikes to the shop after spending excess time becoming frustrated as you try to dial-in your derailleur adjustments and cable tension only to discover it was a bent hanger all-along.

thehuntison2Shop wanted to charge me $30 for a derailleur alignment. I figured I could buy the tool and use it on my bike whenever the shifting gets weird. This tool is easy to use as a gauge and doubles as a lever arm to straighten the bent hanger.
After about a year of owning the tool its paid for itself on my 3 bikes, plus the times my friends have used it.

A GuestMy son just started mountain biking, and he's always tweaking his derailleur hanger. I felt like I was bringing the bike over to the shop on a weekly basis, and got tired of it. Now, I can get his drive train back into tip top shape in a few minutes in my garage. This tool is very easy to use, and I've straightened his hanger a couple of times. His bike has never worked better.

DanConoverA surprising number of the bikes that I used to see as a full-time mechanic came into the shop with their derailleur hangers in some varying degree of screwed-up-idness. Before I went to work in a shop I used to eyeball the bend from behind and do the best I could with my bare hands. It never really worked. This tool not only gives you the leverage to work easily, it checks your progress in two planes simultaneously. I used it daily as a pro mechanic, and even though it's a relatively expensive addition, it's something every home mechanic ought to have in their tool kit.

A GuestTree Fort had the best price & delivered the item quickly; great turn around time. Product works like a champ; I had an issue with a 2011 Ultegra drivetrain always making noise. This tool is simple to use, and very effective. The bike is shifting like it should now. I've also used it to check 6 other bikes & found none of them to be true (until now). I think this is a necessary tool in everyone's box, but most assuredly those of you who have a newer, and less forgiving 10spd cassette setup.

A GuestThis tool is worth its weight in gold. I bought it two weeks ago, and have already realigned four derailleur hangers (one aluminum mountain bike, one steel mountain bike, one aluminum cross bike, and one carbon road bike). This tool has already paid for itself.
My one desire is, I wish there was a better mechanism to hold the gauge rod in place (i.e., there are only two rubber o-rings).

jhughesI use this on a mountain carbon and alluminum frames with no issues. This is my favorite tool since I seem to hit my deraillures quite often.
frames used on.
2010 Rocky Mountain Vertex aluminum
2010 Specialized S-works carbon
2012 Specialized S-works carbon
I also want to say thanks to Tree Fork Bikes. Everytime I have called with questions they were nothing but nice and helpfull, never rushing to get me off the phone or rude.
thanks again.

jdirtbagWorks just like Park says it will and is not a disappointing flimsy piece of crap that so many tools are these days. Paid for itself the first time I used it. I would definitly recommend this tool to mountain bikers who are serious about keeping their bikes in working order.

gflemggets the job done easily. may save buying a new deraileur hangar. essential for bikes without replaceable derailleur hangar.

JRohlandDid a great job fixing the shifting problems on my Litespeed!

roashruI purchased the DAG-2 after figuring I dont have time to make a rear derailleur alignment tool. There are not any graduated markings on the tool so its not really a gauge.

A GuestI expected the threads to be more precisely made for the amount I paid for this. Isn't Park Tool supposed to be mean high quality? It still works though but each time I thread it on a hanger a small amount of metal is shaved off from the threads of the hanger. I try hard to make sure I'm not cross threading.

A GuestI'll join the others.
It works well, and is easy to use.
As the owner of several vintage steel bikes, it makes sense to align those derailler hangers.
Tree Fort's price and quick shipping is welcome.
