amarklinThis is a great basic cyclocomputer that gives you accurate information about time, distance and speed.
1. Current Speed
2. Time of Day
3. Ride Time (duration)
4. Ride Distance (trip odometer)
5. Average Speed
6. Top Speed
7. Odometer
8. Faster/Slower than Avg. Speed Indicator
Easy to install, with a long cable for the induction magnet, and a good ranges of positions on where to mount the magnets on your wheel.
(Make sure you push it FIRMLY into its cradle when testing the install, or you won't register speed and will waste time fiddling with the magnets like I did. Just push until you hear a sharp >CLACK< and make sure it no longer slides back toward you.)
I've checked the mileage against mile markers and have found it to be extremely accurate, right on the nose. Current speed data is very large and stands out, and the other 3 lines of data are clear and readable at a moment's glance without pressing buttons.
In fact, there are no buttons: to change functions you simply push on the rear of the computer, and it springs forward in its cradle slightly and rotates the next line of data into view. Easy even with winter gloves on.
No backlight though, so you can't read it in the twilight if you ride at night.
Also, it has support for two wheel sizes (or bikes) but only one memory, so all the miles accumulate on the single odometer, rather than maintaining two separate totals. That means you can't swap it between two bikes and still track the mileage on them separately for maintenance purposes. Still, at these prices buy two and don't worry about swapping.
