This little adaptor makes it possible to fit larger bottles and unique set-ups with frames that otherwise may not accommodate it by moving the bottle mounts where you need them. This would include getting your bottle out of the way of a frame bag or other obstacle like rear suspension linkages.

Problem Solvers rates the cage adaptor to 28oz because that is typically what you can safely carry on a 2-bolt bottle cage mount without risking damage to the threaded inserts.
If you have you fairly heavy duty frame you might be able to get away with it, without risking damage to your frame.

Great for moving water bottle cages around in the main frame triangle to clear frame bags and maximize usable space on the bike. Can be a pain to mount if you don't use the right bolts, as the minimal clearance between the two pieces requires the bolts that mount to the frame side have low-profile heads.
