Great tape for long distance riders that encounter mixed terrain. It can get destroyed just as easily as any other tape, but seems to hold up well with normal use. Best stuff for my hands that I've tried, and only one I could ride bare handed for long periods of time when I'd rather skip the gloves.
Summed up: Good tape, plan to pick up a few rolls to keep on hand.
Yes, I would recomend this to a friend.

The Profile Design Shock Wrap is comfortable, padded, inexpensive, and easy to install. It has an adhesive strip on the back that makes it stay in place while wrapping. This tape has been on my commuting bike for 6 months, has withstood over 1000 miles of riding in all weather conditions including rain and snow. It looks a little dirty because its white, but cleans easily enough with some Simple Green. The wrap is still firm, it has not opened up in any areas, and other than a little bit of discoloration since it is white, it is more or less identical to when I put it on. I prefer this wrap over the Cinelli Cork tape, which is firmer. For road racing I think the Cinelli tape works better, but for commuting and long road riding, the Profile Disign Shock Wrap is more comfortable.
