anonymousI've been riding a Thudbuster LT 3G (long travel) for over a year now, mostly off-road on my gravel bike. The Thudbuster is wonderful for big hits and long stuttery or rutted singletrack. However, you feel a bob as the seat returns on the flats. That bob really slows you down on paved sections due to disrupting your high-powered pedaling. Seated climbing on the road, for instance, suffers with the Thudbuster.
I've been riding the Redhsift Shockstop for maybe 35 miles now. It eliminates the bob without losing the ability to take the big hits. This is the evolution of suspended seatposts. In fact, I barely notice it's even working. That's how good it is. In no way is my pedaling cadence affected by the suspension. I can now ride on the road with my gravel bike without feeling like I'm losing 30% of my energy ... YEAH!
Additionally, due to some thoughtful engineering, it works with a normal seat bag without any hassle, which is quite rare for suspension seatposts. The beautifully understated matte paintjob and graphics are bulletproof. All that and it's lighter than my Thudbuster!
This purchase has me seriously considering their suspension stem.
