When
SRAM first introduced the XX1 group it changed the way riders looked at their drivetrains, by moving from a 2x10 or 3x9 to a
1x11 SRAM eliminated the overlap that happens when you use multiple front chainrings. To make this 1x11 drivetrain work properly
SRAM had to come up with 3 new technologies: XD Driver, X-Sync Chainrings and the
X-Horizon Rear Derailleur.
For the NX X-Horizon Rear Derailleur, SRAM borrows the design technology offered in the XX1 X-Horizon to provide smooth shifting on the wide range cassettes. SRAM's newly redesigned Type3 derailleur offers improves stability to further reduce chain slap over the Type 2.1 derailleurs. The Cage Lock has also been improved to make changing out wheels even easier.
NX Rear Derailleur''s X-Sync derailleur pulley wheels use the same narrow-wide profile as the X-Sync chainrings to help eliminate unwanted chain movement for faster shifting and little to no ghost shifts. The upper pulley uses 12t for better chain wrap than what you get from a standard 11t pulley.
The
NX X-Horizon Rear Derailleur will only work with SRAM 1x shifters and is not compatible with 2x or 3x drivetrains.
