SRAM's X5 triple crankset uses SRAM GXP outboard bottom bracket system to reduce weight and increase stiffness over a square taper or ISIS bottom bracket crank by using a 24-22mm tapered spindle that is integrated on to the drive side arm. SRAM X5 cranks feature forged 6061aluminum crank arms and a one piece crank arm and spider combination on the drive side. SRAM includes a hard-anodized outer chainring with steel middle and inner rings.
SRAM does not include a bottom bracket with the X5 crankset. The SRAM/TruVativ Team GXP bottom bracket can be found here to fit 68/73mm threaded bottom bracket shells.
