Unfortunately the spindle length of the BB30 version of the X9 crank is most likely too short to work with any of the 30mm to threaded bottom brackets and is designed specifically for a BB30/PF30 frame.

You can by removing the spider and using a GXP compatible SRAM direct mount chainring.

This crank will not accept smaller than a 26t chainring unless you switch out the spider to one with a smaller BCD.

Currently SRAM does not offer a 44t chainring in 120mm BCD, using a different brand would likely cause shifting performance to suffer.

Sram 10 speed mountain and road can be interchanged, you will need to run the mountain front derailleur also.

It really depends on your legs and riding terrain. Here in Michigan we sell a lot more of the 42-28's, but we ship more of the 39-26's to hillier destinations. Your rear cassette gear choice can also be a factor.

Some bikes such as the Niner Air9 Carbon have chainring size clearance limits which can also play into your decision. You may want to contact Trek or your local Trek dealer to see if there maybe fit issues with your particular frame/size.

Yup, it sure will! These are made to fit a standard English Threaded Bottom Bracket and they can fit either a 68 or 73mm shell width.

It should work fine unless you have a version of the Rush with SI cranks. If you have SI cranks you will want the BB30 version of this crankset. There may also be chainring clearance issues with the 42/28t combination, but Cannondale was unable to verify whether there would be or not.
