SRAM's XX1 Eagle group is their premier 12-speed ultra wide gear range group and is designed for optimal performance on race day.
The
SRAM XX1 Eagle Fat Bike Crankset uses SRAM''s updated
X-SYNC 2 chainring that features an updated tooth profile for better chain retention and improved mud shedding over the original X-SYNC chainrings.
SRAM XX1/XO1 X-SYNC 2 chainrings are cold forged and CNC machined to remove excess weight. While they are compatible with
SRAM''s 12-speed Eagle drivetrain, the
X-SYNC 2 chainrings are backward compatible with 1x10 and 1x11 drivetrains. The direct mount chainring design eliminates the need for a crank spider and chainring bolts which reduces weight and opens up gear range options previously not capable with a traditional chainring design.
The
SRAM XX1 Eagle Fat Bike Crank Arms are made from carbon with a special "Carbon Tuned" layup process that allows SRAM to make a stiff crank arm while having a hollow core for reduced weight. This
XX1 Eagle Fat Bike Crank is designed for fat bikes that have 170/177mm rear hubs and have a 66.5mm chainline. The GXP spindle is compatible with the
SRAM Team GXP 100mm and
PF121 bottom brackets.
SRAM fat bike cranks are not compatible with 132mm press-fit bottom brackets like the one that is used on the Surly Ice Cream Truck.
