2019 Beargrease Carbon Deore 1x Fat Bike

To make the most of your new bike right away, be sure to select a pair of pedals when checking out and we will include them with the build!The Salsa Beargrease was designed to bring fat bikes from expedition steeds to winner circle champs. Unlike the Salsa Mukluk that is designed to get you and your stuff there, Beargrease is designed to get you there as quick as you possibly can. For 2019 the Salsa Beargrease Carbon receives an all-new frame with a revised geometry that is closer to the modern trail hardtails like the Salsa TimberJack and WoodSmoke with a longer top tube and shorter stem. The 2019 Salsa Beargrease comes with 27.5x3.8" tires but will also clear most 27.5x4.0" fat bike tires. If you prefer a tire with more volume, the 2019 Beargrease Carbon can still be used with 26x4.6" tires on 80mm wide rims.

Beargrease Carbon models use a full carbon frame with a 12x197mm rear spacing and Press Fit 41 x 121mm bottom bracket shell. The High-Modulus carbon frame construction saves around 350g vs the alloy model (based on a medium frame). Matched to the carbon frame is a Salsa Bearpaw carbon fork with 15x150mm spacing and the same axle to crown measurement as a Rock Shox Bluto 100mm suspension fork. Bearpaw Carbon Forks have 1 set of Three-Pack mounts on each leg to mount a Salsa Anything Cage, pump or water bottle cage.

New for 2019 the Salsa Beargrease Carbon is now compatible with for the first time with a rear rack. The compatible rear rack is the Salsa Alternator 170/177 Rack and you will also need a Salsa Rack-Lock seat collar.

One of the biggest questions we get is what size tire will the Beargrease fit? While it will vary slightly at the upper end of the size spectrum tires in the size ranges below should fit without an issue.

2019 Salsa Beargrease Carbon Deore 1x complete fat bike features a Shimano 1x10 drivetrain with SRAM Level disc brakes. For wheels, the 2019 Salsa Beargrease Deore 1x fat bike rolls on 80mm wide Sun Ringle MuleFut wheels.
