dellnorFantastic trunk mounted bike rack. Definitely worth the extra $. Using it on a BMW 545. Will adapt to our other cars very easily. Considering the length of time most of us keep a bike rack, cost is a no brainer.
Once adjusted pops on or off in 20 sec. Can use the trunk with rack on. Trunk will remain in open position with rack on.
Compact on or off the car. Holds bikes very securely. Only two straps to secure the rack, and they retract easily.

mramentWorks great on my Subaru Outback, and seems like it would work good on other vehicles. Plenty of adjustments for various size frames, including my TT bike with large tubes (often the carriers are too wide for my bike to fit, or any smaller bike to fit). The quality is very good and it seems like it will hold my bike as securely as any strap-on carrier could. I prefer hitch mount or other hard mount carriers, but was getting tired of installing these expensive mounts and then needing to carry a bike on yet-another vehicle. In the long run this should save money even though this was a more expensive rack. I did think some of the adjustments were more clunky than desired, but in the end it should stay in place pretty well. Also, the pads that rest against the car were a problematic as the best resting place prevented the rear wipers from working. I had to settle for a less than optimal location below the wiper blades, and hopefully this will not break a plastic piece that it now partially rests against.

A GuestThis rack is essentially 1 piece so it is easy to install, just adjust the height of the arms, put bottom clips under trunk, and cables to top of trunk and you are good to go. I put this on my Lexus IS250 with spoiler (not perfect fit, but I knew that in purchasing) but it works just as I want. I love only having 2 cables to attach and it feels pretty sturdy.

A GuestI used it on my 94 Honda Civic - carried 3 bikes (1 child's bike, two adult bikes - maybe 100 lbs total) about 1800 miles. The instructions and the Saris website refered to a "fit guide" that says which rachet settings to use for my bike but this guide was not included in the box or anywhere on the saris website. I eventually found it at http://www.docstoc.com/docs/36709681/SARIS-Bones-RS-Fit-Guide
Once I figured out to use rachet position 7 putting it on and taking it off was trivial.
Bikes did not sway at all - my wife has a 1.25" hitch mounted T-Rax on her car - we typically bring 4 bikes on that and the whole thing wobbles all over the place.
The one negative is that the back of the trunk door, where bands connect, lifted up about a quarter of an inch over time. With some help, I could open the trunk door (with the bikes on) and re-close and the trunk door looked fine - till the next time I checked. Once I removed the bikes, the trunk door always seats properly - with or without the rack attached. The trunk door looks fine, feels fine, I'm guessing it is fine.

feastingnowBest trunk rack ever. Its heavier than other racks but its very sturdy and once its on it can stay on. I can actually shake my car side to side with the rack mounted. I own an acura tsx and I don't have to remove the rack when opening the trunk (I tried it on my friends suv and the same result). I never have to readjust the rubber straps once mounted. Its mounted on really tight. This rack is the most secured rack out there besides having a hitch mount. I always worried about the nylon straps coming lose and losing my bike and the rack everytime I'm traveling @ high speeds or making a turn, but with this rack I can do all these things without having to worry about a thing. Although I suggest tying off the front wheels with an elastic cord or with a velcro strap.

A GuestNever imgagined that a bike rack would be so easy to set up. Less than 5 minutes out of the box, installed on my corolla and my sportage. Very sturdy, great design(several people asked me what kind of rack it was and where to get one-TREE FORT BIKES.COM).

A GuestLove this Rack. It is my first rack. I am new to the sport of cycling. I have been doing this for about 3 months, averaging about 100 miles a week.
With all the information (video especially), the installation was easy. You can tell just by looking at it that it is well built. How can I tell? When I park near other vehicles, they have all kinds of straps, bungees, and rust.
I only have one observation....the anti sway device is not helpful at all. The bikes do move around when driving, but this can be easily remedied.
I love this product. Easy to put on and take off, and easy to load and unload bikes.
5 GEARS.

A GuestWas hesitant about buying such an expensive rack--if I hadn't gotten money as a gift to buy it I would not have. I do think that for most purposes such an expensive rack is not necessary. However, that being said this rack does legitimately provide a ton more security and stability than most racks. I am far more comfortable actually putting 3 bikes on this rack than I am on cheaper 3-bike racks (my last one was a 3-bike rack but I would never put 3 bikes on it).
It seems incredibly well made, of high-quality materials.

rfg...@be...h.netWhat a great product! I was impressed with the quality.
Reviewing the instructions before beginning installation was important to know what to do.
This rack is well made and easily installed on my 3 series BMW.
I tried it out with 1 bike first. Once I was confident about this product I carried 3 bikes on this rack.
What a great product for those who don't have a trailer hitch.
It would be nice if Saris could increase this to 4 bikes. The Thule rack I used on my prior car hold 5 bikes and is teriffic. However, a hitch on the BMW requires a hole in the bumper which I'm not going to do.
The only negative is the plastic part where the lock is to secure the rack arms. I think Saris could have created this part in metal. Yes it would add to the weight, but it would make the product more secure.
Another wonderful feature is less straps. This rack is a keeper.
