Offering faultless durability and performance for a minimal price, Shimano's M525 hubs utilize a serviceable cup and cone bearing system with dual seals that with occasional maintenance can last virtually forever, even in the dirtiest of riding conditions. Though certainly not the lightest hub on the market, this workhorse will form the centerpiece of a wheel that''ll hold up to abuse indefinitely.

can I use this to replace a Shimano FH M525 VIAM rear hub on a 29'r? Flange width is ~70mm
A.
anwered by: mhutch
This hub has a flange diameter of 61mm, but otherwise should work as long as you need 8/9/10 speed freehub body, 6 bolt disc, and 135mm rear spacing. You may need to calculate for different spokes if the flange width is different.
