Yes, due to the chainring size and wider chainline. A road front derailleur might work with friction but will not work indexed.

Generally speaking most mountain cranks on size medium (17 or 18" and up) are 175mm and smaller frames than that use 170mm cranks.
For a more exact crank length it is always best to work with a fitter.
