asked by: a guest Does concave/convex mean that the concave barrell stop fits on a convex surface?
A.
anwered by: mlewis Yes, the Concave version is best for frames with smaller diameter tubes, like most steel frames. The flat version is best on oversized tubed bikes like many aluminum models, to ensure a clean look against the frame.

Perfect if you have a frame with downtube shifter bosses but want to run bar shifters. Also adds an on the fly cable tension tweak to both front and rear derailleurs.
For anyone else that wasn't sure which to order, the concave barrel stops are typically for steel frames, and the flat are for aluminum frames.
Great way to upgrade and continue riding your classic frame using STI levers. These replaced the braze on shift levers with clean, adjustable cable stops. You could switch sides if you have welded in cable guides above the bottom bracket, or leave them for a cable guide underneath. Great little hardware addition.
