Specs says Rear Deraileur Compability = Shimano. Does this mean it will work with ANY 7-Speed derailleur as long as it is a Shimano derailleur? The same question goes for the front derailleur.

The Shimano EF500 shifter/brake levers will work with any 7-speed rear derailleur that is Shimano or a Shimano compatible brand, they will not work with SRAM ESP or Campagnolo rear derailleurs.
The front shifter is compatible with mountain triple front derailleurs by Shimano and most other brands. The Shimano EF500 front shifter is not compatible with most road bike front derailleurs as the cable pull is slightly different.
