The Shimano RS785 Disc Caliper is designed to be paired with either the electronic Di2 ST-R785 or mechanical ST-R685 STI integrated shift/brake levers. Borrowing technology from their XT level mountain bike brethren the RS785 disc calipers feature IceTech resin pads with cooling fins, sintered metal pads are also available separately .
If you like to be your own mechanic you will appreciate Shimano's easy one way bleed system that uses mineral oil to make short work of bleeding your RS785 disc brakes. Shimano''s mineral oil system is more environmentally friendly than DOT systems used by some other brands. Mineral oil will also not harm you or the finish of your bike.
