Sora 3500 Left STI Lever

For the longest time you had to set up to 105 or best shifter to get Shimano integrated road shifters that could be shifter up and down on the lever blade. When Shimano redesigned the Sora group they removed the thumb release and used the same shifting format found on the higher end groups. No more awkward thumb shifts while in the drops.

Shimano's Sora 3500/3503 STI shifters come in versions that are compatible with either double or triple drivetrains giving you the option to pick which gear range works best for you. Both the triple and double versions of the Sora 3500 include an integrated shift indicator so you can quickly tell which gear you are in. 

For quick, on the fly adjustments the Sora 3500 STI levers feature built in cable adjusters, no more need for inline adjusters that can just add drag. Individual levers include low friction cables but do not include housing. Shimano recommends their SP41 Housing and you will need a high quality set of cable cutters like Park Tool CN-10 to cut the cable to the proper length.

Using Shimano''s Super SLR brake pull ratio, the Sora 3500 STI levers work with road calipers, cantilever brakes and short pull mechanical disc brakes.
