I noticed the max tooth is 52 do you believe it may work with a 53 being only one tooth larger?
A.
anwered by: canteau
Shimano does not support using this derailleur with chainrings larger than 52t, you might have issues with the derailleur being too high when you shift into the small cog.

Are these really only compatible with R3000 shifters? Im replacing a
Sora FD-3500 derailleur on a bike with ST-3500 shifters.
A.
anwered by: mhutch
Yes, Shimano changed their cable pull and derailleur ratio slightly with the R3000 shifter/front derailleur for smoother actuation.
