Going from a 113mm spindle to a 117.5mm spindle will effect the chainline of your crank and may cause shifting issues.

I have a TREK 7000 from the mid-2000's. I just bought a replacement SR Suntour front cluster asbly. it notes that i need a 122.5 mm bottom bracket bearing. Is this a 68mm or 73mm bottom bracket width?

You would need to measure the bottom bracket shell of your frame, both have the same spindle length, however, the cups are wider on the 73mm version to fit frames with a 73mm bb shell.

The Shimano UN-26 in the same 68x110mm would be a direct replacement with slightly nicer bearings.

Assuming the Origin 8 bottom bracket is a JIS taper the spindle width would be the same.

The issue will be with the frame width that is indicated by the 73(mm) or 68(mm). If your bottom bracket shell measures 68mm you should be fine.
