Cross Check Complete Bike - Single Speed
They've finally done it. Brand new for Surly in 2013 is a singlespeed Cross Check, pared down and ready for the your urban/suburban adventure needs. Much of this bike is what you''ll always find in a Surly. It''s made with 4130 chromoly steel, so it''s a lovely beast that will stand for four-season, take-me-anywhere beatings and still come back for more. It uses a tried and true geometry, the same as the geared Cross Check. And it''s super versatile, including fork eyelets and rear bosses that invite fenders and racks as well as downtube shifter bosses that allow the option of a future geared conversion. But even beyond losing the shifters, the singlespeed Cross Check is its own character, unique from its geared big brother. With 42mm Continental Tour Ride tires (semi-slick, comfortable, utilitarian), a Salsa MotoAce riser handlebar (a flat, mountain-style bar), and Surly''s proprietary Getaroundit 42t x 17t gearing, the SS Cross Check is about style and fun on the road, taking you across town and beyond with utilitarian grace.

A GuestI love my cross check single speed. It's the perfect bike for cruising around, not looking flashy, getting the job done, and not getting ripped off(w/ a good lock of course).
