It's not that the days of skinny tires, white is light Euro-philing is entirely over, it''s just folks expect more out of their road bikes now. All Road, Road Plus, whatever you would like to call them, are built for comfort and speed regardless of the terrain you find yourself riding on. The Midnight Special features all the bells and whistles you have come to expect from Surly. Features like wide tire clearance, multiple wheel size compatibility, rack and fender mounts, and three water bottle mounts. All of this, and modern road bike accents like flat-mount disc brakes and thru axels.
