TRP has all the bases covered with their EuroX canti-brakes. We really haven't seen many brakes better suited toward Cyclocross. The mud clearance is top notch and the strength is second to none. It''s almost as though you can just tell by looking at these babys that they are well designed. I got these to replace a set of Avid Shorty4 brakes. Compared to the Avids, the design is very simple. I liked the mechanisms for aligning the pads to the rims and adjusting the toe-in. Centering of the pads requires adjustment of the straddle cable, as opposed to the set screws used on the Avids.
It took me longer to dial in these brakes than it did for the Avids, however once adjusted, they provide excellent stopping power and modulate braking very well.

Put together my first cross bike, road man, with these this winter. The install was easy but the set up was a little difficult. The instructions didn't give you a lot in set up tips. Once I got them set up and switched to Swiss Stop green pads everything was good. The brake power is a little less than my road brake but it was still good.

Set up is very time-consuming, but I love how adjustable the brakes are. I didn't tighten the front cables up quite enough and it loosened up on me during a race. But that problem was easily fixed, and now I know to really, really tighten everything down.
