jtietemaUpdating my review above. I put over 3000 miles on these tires with much of it on chip seal roads. I only got two flats, one from a car tire wire and the other from a sharp, strong thorn. I don't think any tire would have survived these to punctures other than possibly a Schwalbe Marathon Plus which doesn't come in the 650c size.
My rear tire is now worn out with the threads showing through. I'll be ordering more of these.

amazer98I bought these Terry Tellus tires to replace the narrower 23c tires on my recumbent. The Terry's are a bit beefier, but ultimately the difference is incremental, not huge. Still, the Terry's are more stable than the 23c tires, and since their inflation levels are lower, the ride is somewhat more plush. Plus, they seem to roll along quickly, and I don't think any speed is sacrificed.
All in all, I think 28c is a great compromise between speed and comfort... And as I said, you really don't give up much in the speed department.

jtietemaIf you are looking for the widest 650c tire you can find, your choices are very limited. Terry Tellus are among the few. I rode the old style Tellus tires without the puncture protection for about 1000 miles and liked them for their smooth ride until a metal shard ruined my back tire. I put the new Terrys with puncture protection on and immediately noticed a harsher ride. Only one ride so far so no insights into durability, but if you liked the ride of the original Terry Tellus, the new version will not feel the same.
