asked by: a guest I'm looking for an all mountain flat pedal that has a narrow profile. Will these last?
A.
anwered by: canteau These are designed as an urban/commuter pedal and have a fairly small platform that isn't really suited for off-road use. For a more robust pedal I would suggest the Shimano Saint MX80 pedal.
I ride a SOMA doublecross set up for commuting in SF. I had just had toe clips on track pedals but hated getting in-n-out out of em at every light. These are super light, suprisingly skinny and were just perfect for the commuter who doesnt want clipless or toe clips.
This platform has good amount of grip. It's just like my MG1 with 8mm pins but it is NOT super grippy like my MG1 with 10mm pins.
You can ride this in the trail but I dont think you want to do bunnyhops off them just because the area where you foot is, is quite small. This is why I put 3 star on this product. I have a size 8.5 shoes and my feet twists sometimes on a steep climb due to the small area of the pedal.
I would recommend it if you have small feet or uses 5.10 shoes.
