Its flexible enough to bend wide open to fit around the frame and is also very sturdy. No wiggle in the derailleur at all. Its simple and gets the job done.
Works for 31.8 derailleur to 28.6 frame (same measurements as description but in metric)

As a previous review stated, this is for 31.8 derailleur on 28.6 frame. Used this for my Surly Cross Check build and it worked great! It was simple to use, and well made.
